Informed Source Clarifies Status of Tehran-Cairo Ties

TEHRAN An informed source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced here on Sunday that any comments on a resumption of ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and other countries will be made by official sources.
The announcement was made in the aftermath of a published interview with Sabah Zangeneh, an advisor to Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi.
Although the interview, published by the Lebanese daily Al-Mostaqbal contained certain personal remarks made by Zangeneh pertaining to Tehran-Cairo ties, the Foreign Ministry source added that relations between Iran and Egypt have improved in all dimensions and the level of cooperation between the two countries has witnessed considerable progress.
The informed source emphasized that the remarks of the advisor reflected his personal views and impression on the situation and developments in the two Muslim countries' relations.
The source did not elaborate on Zangeneh's remarks on Iran-Egypt ties.
